Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose and Éminence de Bijou Chardonnay win again
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose Rosé has received the GRAND OR medal at Vinalies 2025. The judging panel is made up of the best 100 oenologists, journalists, and sommeliers in France. Of the 2,684 wines submitted to the competition this year, only 14 French rosés were awarded this accolade,… Outperforming the likes of UP Provence and Château de Berne, the 2024 vintage might well be our best yet. Thanks to the cooler climate conditions in 2024, with fewer heat spikes and a prolonged growing season, we have achieved a more balanced acidity and great concentration of flavour.
Adding to the excitement, Éminence de Bijou Chardonnay has been awarded a Gold Medal at the Berliner Wein Trophy! This recognition is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality and innovation. Sourced from the high-altitude vineyards of La Haute Vallée de l’Aude, our cuvée showcases outstanding freshness, complexity, and the finesse that sets it apart. Fermented and aged in a combination of stainless steel, old conical oak vats and the French oak barrels, Éminence de Bijou is proof that world-class Chardonnay can be crafted outside of Burgundy. James Suckling also awarded this vintage 92 points and described it as being “A lively, precise and fresh chardonnay. It shows aromas of stone fruit, warm herbs and sweet spices on the nose, following through to a medium body with bright acidity. There is a vertical dimension to the creamier texture. Good energy with a comforting finish”.
These accolades demonstrate yet again the quality of our unique Southern French winemaking program.
