Bijou Toasts Global Changemakers at 2025 Women of the Year Awards

London, October 2025: More than 400 inspiring women gathered at the Royal Lancaster Hotel this week for the 2025 Women of the Year Lunch & Awards, marking 70 years of celebrating resilience, courage and remarkable women driving change around the world.

Founded in 1955 by Lady ‘Tony’ Lothian OBE during a defining moment in British history, the event was created to shine a light on women whose achievements too often went unrecognised. Seven decades on, that mission feels just as powerful. The room was filled with inspiring stories from changemakers, campaigners and trailblazing leaders from all walks of life – all united with a shared drive to challenge convention and make the world a better place.

As the exclusive wine sponsor, Bijou proudly poured its signature Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose range. The collection aptly honours a 19th-century female vineyard worker in Southern France who fought for fair treatment and equality for her peers – a fitting tribute for an event dedicated to women breaking barriers and forging change.

This year, President Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE DL and Chair Vix Brenninkmeijer welcomed guests to the milestone event, where stories of courage, compassion and inspiration were shared – each one toasted with a glass of Bijou.

Bijou’s commitment to female empowerment extends beyond the awards stage.
