The Competition

The Wines
Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose Pinot Noir is made around the historic winemaking town of Limoux, which is considered the meeting point between the oceanic influence from the west, and the Mediterranean influence from the east. The vines benefit from the strong diurnal amplitude of the Pyrenean climate due to the vineyards residing almost 500 m above sea level.
This wine has a beautiful cherry-red colour and emits a fragrance of ripe red fruits and kirsch. Vibrant and crisp on the palate, with a lively acidity that intensifies the fruit flavours. Its light and refreshing nature is accompanied by a smooth and silky texture. Great varietal typicity.
It’s a perfect companion to a wide range of dishes, from Charcuterie to lamb stew and roasted vegetables Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose Pinot Noir is a cellar staple!
Éminence de Bijou Pinot Noir is grown in the unique terroir of La Haute-Vallée, which is distinguished by a set of microclimates that give this wine a unique freshness. Set in the upper reaches of the river Aude, leading up to the snow-capped Pyrenees, this much cooler area benefits from the higher elevation (400-450 m above sea level). The wider diurnal range of this region allows the grapes to fully ripen and preserve the aromas.
A complex and layered wine, with a deep ruby colour and a generous nose of pure cherries and red fruits. On the Palate, it is balanced, round, and linear. It is fresh with a lovely fine-tannic structure. Éminence Pinot Noir is partially oaked in French oak barrels before blending, providing a truly gastronomic experience.
Robust enough to accompany roasted meat, risotto, and hearty stews perfectly.
We are so thrilled to announce these wins after the fantastic reception they received at the trade fairs. Both wines embody Bijou’s tireless commitment to great quality, sustainability, and creating delicious wines with a real sense of place.
