Meininger’s International Rosé Award has revealed the results of their competition with Bijou wines scoring amongst the top French rosés on show!
Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose rosé. Coteaux de Béziers, 2021
The strength of our Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose 2021 vintage continues to excite judging panels worldwide with our flagship rosé recently scoring 90 points at the Meiningers International Rosé awards 2022.
With Bijou securing the 3rd highest rated French rosé alongside Chateau Esclan’s Garrus and Domaine Ott’s Clos Mireille, we were delighted that Bijou came ahead of a determined chasing pack, including the likes of Whispering Angel, Miraval and Estandon.
This success was mirrored in the UK market throughout June as Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose was in the top five best selling rosés in the UK. (according to NielsenIQdata*).
One of my hot pinks of the summer, crammed with crowd-pleasing yet elegant, citrus peel-scented charm. Just what you would expect from a low-yielding, bush vine Languedoc-Roussillon grenache-cinsault blend, pumped up with a dab each of fruity caladoc and spicy syrah.
– Jane MacQuitty, July 02 2022.
Our grapes are 100% grown in HVE vineyards and sourced from low-yielding bush vines within Coteaux de Beziers. For this vintage we have Caladoc to the blend, which is drought resistant but importantly offers an added flavour dimension to the wine. Our rosé pays tribute to the legendary woman who fought for the women’s rights in the vineyards at the end of the 19th century.
Éminence de Bijou rosé, Coteaux de Béziers, 2021
Our latest release, Éminence de Bijou gained 88 points at this competition. A significant result for a rosé that is pushing the boundaries of its category. Éminence de Bijou rosé is partially oaked, resulting in a rosé wine that is complex and layered, with subtle aromas of vanilla and spice, that make this wine ideal for fine-dining.
The results are a transparent expression of our wine making philosophy: to produce quality-driven and authentic wines that have a sense of place…
