Bijou Le Chic Sauvignon Blanc featured as one of the Tope New Products in the Drinks Business. The white wine pouch was launched earlier this year into Waitrose & Partner’s UK following the enormous success of the rosé pouch throughout 2019. The Bijou Le Chic rosé pouch was the supermarket’s “best seller” in the category in 2019 and 2020.
The pouch format, as highlighted by the Drinks Business, has a much lower carbon footprint than glass bottles due to the lightweight packaging and compact design which drastically reduces transport emissions.
“When empty it weighs 100g, whereas 75cl glass bottles can be as much as 10 times that. The shape also allows for eight times more wine to be loaded onto a single lorry.”
Additionally, the trials for a fully recyclable pouch have so far delivered extremely positive results and we hope to share further developments with you in the near future.
