Sophie Valrose Viognier Grenache Blanc

Calcareous Clay & Limestone soils.

Well-trellised vineyards located between the Bassin de Thau and Gruissan. Exposed to strong winds and mineral rich soils.

The grapes are harvested early in the morning, between 4a.m. and 10 a.m., to preserve freshness and limit oxidation. Following direct pressing, the final press fractions are separated before cold settling and extended lees clarification. Fermentation is carried out at low temperatures, followed by two months of aging on fine lees, with the wine kept in stainless steel tanks to retain purity and balance.

This white wine is delicate and balanced, with floral notes alongside aromas of peach and apricot. The Viognier brings aromatic expression, while Grenache Blanc adds structure and definition on the palate. The overall impression is harmonious and measured, with good length.

Well suited to grilled white fish, roast poultry, lightly spiced dishes and vegetable-based cuisine, as well as soft, creamy cheeses.

THE LEGEND OF SOPHIE VALROSE

At the turn of the last century, women were often relegated to the back-breaking and unpleasant labour in the vineyards, while being paid significantly less than their male counterparts.

This best-selling range embodies the legend of Sophie Valrose; symbolising the fight that women undertook to be recognised for their dedication to the wine industry, which would not have flourished without their efforts.
