The Bijou team are working hard and gearing up for Wine Paris. Our small and varied portfolio of wines will be available to taste at the fair this year, as well as some much anticipated new releases.
Taste the 2023 vintage!
The 2023 vintages of Languedoc were certainly marked by extreme temperatures. The cool breezes from the Mediterranean helped to cool the vines and preserve them in the long periods of heat, slowing down the maturation process. To our surprise, the acidity levels were looking steady around the harvest. This has translated into a lively brightness in the wines of this vintage. The 2023 vintage rosés will be available for tasting at Wine Paris.
The New Releases
We have chosen to showcase four exquisite new wines at Wine Paris this year. We have been working on them in the background for two years, and they will additions to our two much-loved ranges; Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose and Éminence de Bijou.
Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose – Macabeu and Vermentino
The new additions include two exceptional whites to the Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose range, a Macabeu and Vermentino. Both celebrate the rich winemaking heritage of the Roussillon region with these indigenous grape varieties. On the border with Spain, the vineyards benefit from a Mediterranean climate.. The typical regional character can be fully experienced in this Macabeu. The Vermentino hails from sites located in the Agly Valley, where the sea breezes help to cool the vines on hot, sunny days, and the Pyrenees winds descend from the snowy caps of the mountains, keeping them cool at night.
Éminence de Bijou – Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
It isn’t just the Le Bijou de Sophie Valrose range that will gain new additions. Our premium, gastronomic range Éminence de Bijou will also expand to include two exquisite limited quantity
wines from the higher altitude vineyards of Limoux, where the vineyards are set in the upper reaches of the River Aude. A Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the unique terroir of the region leaves a mark on these wines in their undeniable freshness. Both are aged for six months in French oak barrels, providing a complex and robust flavour profile.
We can’t wait to offer these new wines at Wine Paris for you to taste. If you would like to drop by our stand to hear more about the new wines, or taste them along with the 2023 vintages, please come and see us. Hall 4 A388.
